Distinguished Alums

Honoring Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary graduates who exemplify outstanding service

Each year, Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary honors two graduates with the Distinguished Alum Award in recognition of extraordinary service in ministry. One award is presented to an alum who graduated within the last 25 years, and the other to an alum who graduated more than 25 years ago.

We are delighted to announce the recipients of Garrett’s 2025 Distinguished Alum Awards: Rev. Dr. Michael Washington and Rev. Dr. Lynn Pries. Both honorees exemplify faithful leadership, compassionate service, and a lifelong commitment to ministry that reflects the heart of Garrett’s mission. Their remarkable contributions to the church and community continue to inspire and impact countless lives. The awards will be presented during Homecoming Chapel on Wednesday, November 5, at 4 p.m. All are warmly invited to join us in the Chapel to celebrate and honor their outstanding ministries
