About the Collective

Theological Education For All

The Garrett Collective was born out of the question, If we were to build a seminary today, what would we create? Who would it serve? How would it serve them?

These are the questions at the heart of the Garrett Collective.

The answers lie in creating opportunities that bring the wisdom, power, and insights of the gospel into a broken world in ways that empower and resource religious communities and faith leaders by meeting them where they are, equipping them for courageous thought and action, and creating spaces where, collectively, we can breathe new life into where it is needed most.

The Garrett Collective is a global, multi-lingual, collaborative platform. We connect users around the world to multi-media content and online classes and cohorts, at price points that reflect economic justice.

We connect people to expansive and transformative experiences that lead to the thriving of the church and the healing of the world.

This site is our soft launch, where we are building and testing content in collaboration with others. We will launch in July 2025.

Zaillah Gurugulla, Content Curator and Editor

Meet the jack of all trades, master of none. Whose loud hi can make someone’s day or scare many away. Zaillah calls herself an incurable hobbyist as she enjoys a little bit of too many. She is lost in her world of creativity and likes to pen down her thoughts in her journals. When she disappears, we find her in the woods, over the hills & the valleys, in the wild, in secret places somewhere beneath the sky, thinking too deep and just letting her phone beep in royal silence. She jumps into anything old-school, art, and machinery. Her brain is automated to add background music to situations with humor, drama, and sarcasm. She is constantly ambivalent and is pursuing a dual master’s in Faith, Culture, & Educational Leadership as well as Pastoral Care and Counselling. As a student worker, Zaillah helps convert content into graphics, art, and more. No surprise that Garrett Art Studio remains one of her favorite spots.

Jene Lee, Media Center Student Worker and Video Editor

The Rev. Jene Christopher Lee is the Media Center student worker. He is currently pursuing Doctor of Philosophy in Theological and Ethical Studies at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. His research areas include Pneumatology, transpacific theology, post/decolonial studies, and transnational camp towns in South Korea. Jene believes that speaking the truth to public is as important as speaking the truth to power. Jene loves editing videos and serves as a private chef for his wife.
