Office of Contextual Education

Vocational Formation in Context

The Office of Contextual Education supports students in their vocational formation through ministry practice in context. Our students in the MDiv, MATM and MAPCC degree programs are challenged to put theory into practice as they engage their ministry contexts, develop ministry skills and theologically reflect on their experiences. Our partners include clinical counseling sites, Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) programs in hospitals and care facilities, Field Education sites in churches and non-profits, and non-credit internships in a variety of contexts. The Office of Contextual Education is committed to sustaining mutually beneficial partnerships with our ministry practice sites not only for the flourishing of our students, but the thriving of the church and the healing of the world.

Meet the Director

Rev. Dr. Lisl Heymans Paul, D.Min

My goal is to help students realize God’s dream for them as they listen deeply for the story God is unfolding in their lives and their ministry contexts.
