As a Software Developer and Ed-Tech innovator at Garrett, José is committed to transforming learning experiences through scalable software, artificial intelligence (AI), and system integrations. His extensive background in higher education and publishing encompasses teaching, research, translation, Latin American culture, software engineering, and educational technologies.

Driven by a passion for educational technology, José focuses on enhancing learning, fostering creativity, facilitating content creation, and streamlining knowledge management. He specializes in developing full-stack applications microservices using JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, .Net, C#, Go, React, Express.js, Flask, and FastAPI. He has proficiency in meta-frameworks such as Next.js and Remix. His expertise includes API design, system integrations, and prompt engineering for large language models (LLMs).

José is proficient as well in Gitlab CI/CD and Unix-like command lines, with intermediate-level expertise in Ubuntu and Alpine Linux systems, allowing him to effectively manage his own VMs and containers for deployment.

He has successfully deployed custom content management systems based on Payload CMS, and integrated a range of educational management systems, in the areas of student information (SIS), learning (LMS), video management (VMS), and customer relations (CRM). José has also developed expertise in a range of databases, including PostgreSQL, Redis and Neo4j, allowing him to craft robust and efficient data architectures.

As an adept AI/software architect, José designs and implements scalable, containerized applications that leverage the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to drive seamless integration between LLM and traditional software architectures.

Beyond his professional endeavors, José enjoys writing poetry, playing music, and translating between English and Spanish. He treasures time with his family, especially with his wonderful 2-year-old son, Gabriel, affectionately known as Gabo.
