“We believe that the thriving – or lack thereof – of congregations, of the communities in which they are embedded, and of the soil, water, plants, animals, and earth systems of which they are members are all interconnected.”
The Midwest Bioregional Hub of Garrett’s Center for Ecological Regeneration partners with congregations throughout the Midwest to seek the just healing of the land for the thriving of all.
Partner congregations are enrolled in a 15-month earth-based curriculum, Hope for Creation, that empowers and connects churches to partner with the communities of which they are members – social and ecological – for the mutual thriving of all. Grounded in theological, spiritual, and practical ecological wisdoms, this curricular journey aligns with seasonal and liturgical cycles and supports congregations as they discern their particular visions for regenerative mission and ministry.
Supported by a $1.25 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., the Hope for Creation curriculum is offered at no cost to participating congregations as part of the Midwest Bioregional Hub initiative of Garrett’s Center for Ecological Regeneration.

“The energies of revitalization within either a congregation, the surrounding community, or their natural environs fosters new possibilities of potential renewal across each of the others.”
