New Certificate in Ecological Regeneration Launching in 2022-2023 Academic Year
Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary will offer a new Certificate in Ecological Regeneration starting in the 2022-2023 academic year. Approved by the faculty in May, this 15-credit hour certificate will allow students to take graduate courses in ecological theology, environmental ethics, and practical eco-theology to equip them for environmental ministries in diverse contexts for the sake of ecological healing and justice.

Aaron Dorsey, PhD Student, Awarded Forum for Theological Exploration Doctoral Grant

PhD Candidate Rev. Patricia Bonilla Named 2022-2023 Hispanic Theological Initiative/Lilly Endowment Dissertation Fellow
Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary doctor of philosophy candidate, Reverend Patricia Bonilla, has been named a 2022-2023 Hispanic Theological Initiative/Lilly Endowment Dissertation Fellow. Bonilla is one of 10 doctoral candidates in North America to be named a 2022-2023 fellow.

Styberg Library Staff Recognized for Exemplary Performance During the Pandemic
The last few years have been a time like no other for the world and certainly for the Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary staff. Dr. Kate Ott Named Jerre and Mary Joy Stead Professor of Christian Social Ethics and Director of the Stead Center for Ethics and Values
Dr. Kate Ott has been named the next holder of the Jerre L. and Mary Joy Stead Professor of Christian Social Ethics and director of the Stead Center for Ethics and Values, beginning July 1, 2022. Ott will be the second to hold this endowed chair following the upcoming retirement of the Reverend Dr. Brent Waters in June 2022.

Acolatse as professor of pastoral theology and world Christianity, beginning July 1, 2022. Acolatse brings a wealth of teaching experience and academic scholarship at the intersection of psychology and Christian thought in aid of human flourishing, with interests in the gendered body, cultural anthropological dimensions of medicine, health, and healing, and their implications for suffering, death, dying, and care at the end of life.
