Worship Leader
Job Expectations
- Collaborate with the pastor and worship team to musically and spiritually lead contemporary worship services that are meaningful and memorable.
- Plan and execute the music program for the weekly worship service and special events including Holy Week and Christmas Eve.
- Schedule, organize and prepare vocalists/musicians for rehearsals, worship, and special events.
- Prepare for and conduct weekly rehearsals in preparation for worship service.
- Lead worship every Sunday.
- Actively recruit new singers and musicians.
- Plan music which is in keeping with the mission and vision of Flowing Forth UMC.
- Secure guest musicians (vocal and instrumental) as needed.
- Work in collaboration with the worship team to develop a plan for acquisition, maintenance and upgrades of instruments and other related equipment.
- Ensure that the music library and musical instruments are operational, maintained, and stored when not in use.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned by pastor.
Job Specifications
- Honor the Christian faith and worship experience.
- Demonstrate significant experience in music and multiple instruments (piano, guitar, etc.)
- Be relational with the congregation by being available before and after services and practices.
- Take initiative in seeking ways to expand and enhance the music program.
- Have good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Have a highly collaborative work style and be able to adapt to change easily.
- Work independently as well as follow directions of supervisor
