With deep gratitude for her life and ministry, we invite you to join us in a special memorial service for Dr. Ruth C. Duck, Emerita Professor of Worship, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. This service will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Unnamed Faithful at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. For those unable to attend in person, the service will also be available to watch online, with more details forthcoming.
Dr. Ruth C. Duck, Emerita Professor of Worship, was a beloved professor, scholar, and hymnwriter whose work shaped the worship life of the church and deeply influenced generations of seminarians. As a faculty member at Garrett-Evangelical for over two decades, she was a mentor, teacher, and friend, inspiring students with her profound theological insights, commitment to inclusive worship, and unwavering passion for justice. Her hymns continue to be sung around the world, calling communities to deeper faith, compassion, and hope.
