Film Screening and discussion of ‘1946: The Mistranslation that Shifted a Culture’

April 1 @ 4:15 pm - 6:00 pm

Join us for a film screening and discussion in Main 205 and online on the documentary film 1946: The Mistranslation that Shifted a Culture on Tuesday April 1 from 4:15-6pm. “The mistranslation of the word “homosexual” in the Bible in 1946 shaped modern Christian culture, leading to decades of exclusion, pain, and division. However, the 1946 production team, along with many faith leaders, scholars, and advocacy organizations, has been working toward a shared goal: exposing this historical error, challenging harmful theology, and advocating for full LGBTQIA+ inclusion in the church and in society.” Click here to learn more about the film. Rev. Dr. Cheryl Anderson, Professor Emerita of Old Testament will share about her involvement with the film and facilitate our discussion. Movie snacks will be provided.
