Alumni Award Nomination Criteria

A nomination form plus two letters of support for the nominee from individuals other than the nominator are required. Nominations will remain active for three years or at the discretion of Garrett.

 

Nominees must:

  • hold an earned degree from Garrett
  • have graduated no earlier than 2021
  • be an individual living at the time of nomination

 

Alumni Achievement Award — one of the seminary’s top honors, recognizing a graduate whose exceptional accomplishments and distinguished standing in their field demonstrate the enduring value of a Garrett-Evangelical education across a lifetime.

 

Distinguished Alumni Service Award — recognizing a graduate whose consistent and exceptional service reflects the values of their Garrett-Evangelical formation and advances the seminary’s mission in the church and the world.

 

Eligibility


Recipients are honored each year at Homecoming — for 2026, presented during the weekend of November 12–14. The nomination deadline is September 15, 2026. All nominations are confidential; nominees are notified only if selected.

 

What a Nomination Should Include

  1. Nominator’s name and contact information
  2. Nominee’s name and contact information
  3. Nominee’s degree(s) from Garrett-Evangelical and year(s) of graduation
  4. Any additional degrees earned after Garrett-Evangelical (if applicable)
  5. Nominee’s professional and vocational achievements
  6. Nominee’s record of service to the church, community, and world
  7. How the nominee exhibits qualities that exemplify Garrett-Evangelical’s mission
