SUMMARY:Let's Talk Globally: Invisible Mask - Clergy Sexual Misconduct\, Trauma\, and Intercultural Pastoral Care
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a conversation with Dr. Ahyun Lee on her new book\, Protestant Clergy Sexual Misconduct and Intercultural Pastoral Care: Invisible Mask. Grounded in pastoral theology\, intercultural care\, and trauma-informed psychotherapy\, this conversation will reflect on how churches and theological communities can better honor victim-survivors’ dignity\, resist harmful theological narratives\, and cultivate practices of justice\, healing\, and accountable care. \nDate: April 7\, 2026\nTime: 11:45 AM – 1:00 PM CT\nLocation: Main 205 and Online

SUMMARY:A Student Salon: The Rise of Religious Nationalism
DESCRIPTION:Unlike a lecture where a professor speaks to students\, a salon is a peer-to-peer exchange of ideas. Even if you fundamentally disagree with someone you must do so with wit and grace\, not anger. This salon will focus on the rise of religious nationalism as a global phenomenon. What is it? Where is it? Who is it? Why is it? \nThe facilitators of this salon will be: \n\nBarry E. Bryant is the Associate Professor of United Methodist Wesleyan Studies. He has taught “Race: America’s True Religion” and has led student groups to the Occupied Palestinian Territory of the West Bank.\nPaula Roderick\, is an attorney focusing on Employment Discrimination and Civil Rights Attorney; a member of Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression\, Black 4 Palestine\, the Steering Committee for UM Kairos Response. \n\nThe Rev. Neal Christie is a consultant to the United Methodist\, Wespath Benefits around issues of divestment; the cofounder of The Religious Nationalisms Project\, a ministry of the New York State Council of Churches; and\, a 2025-26 Civil Society Fellow with the Institute for Islamic\, Christian\, and Jewish Studies
