I recently had the good fortune to join “Interfaith Partners for Peace” for my first trip to Israel. Rabbi Yehiel Poupko, Judaic scholar at the Jewish United Fund of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago, hosted the trip. The purpose of these interfaith trips is to strengthen the shared work of Jewish and Christian leaders who are committed to working for peace and reconciliation rather than engaging polarizing narratives that do not address the complexity of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
