EVANSTON, Illinois, October 11, 2017 – The Styberg Preaching Institute at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary will bring together modern-day prophets Father Michael Pfleger, Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III, and Rev. Alexia Salvatierra, along with 12 panelists of leading scholars and pastors, for a two-day conference to address critical issues of injustice that infect our society and call for a response from the church.

Rev. Dr. Trina Armstrong, assistant professor of pastoral care and pastoral theology at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, was named president and chair of the Society for Pastoral Theology (SPT) at their 33rd Annual Meeting. She most recently served as the vice president of the steering committee before beginning her term as president and chair on June 17, 2017. As president and chair, Armstrong is responsible for leading SPT’s steering committee in planning its annual meeting and providing vision and oversight for the overall affairs of the society.

Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary is proud to announce its newest partnership with the School of Theology (A Faculdade de Teologia da Igreja Metodista––FATEO) at Methodist University of São Paulo, Brazil. Through this global partnership the two institutions can now promote exchange of faculty and students, joint publications, synchronous courses, and more.
