Alumna Heidi Schlumpf Named National Correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter
Heidi Schlumpf (G-ETS 2000) has been named national correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter (NCR), effective immediately. She has served as a part-time contributor and columnist for NCR for over 10 years. In her new role Schlumpf will report about issues important to Catholics in the United States, with a focus on putting a Catholic and faith perspective on national and political trends.
Schlumpf has three decades of experience covering religion, spirituality, social justice, and women's issues and is the author/editor of three books, including Elizabeth A. Johnson: Questing for God (Liturgical Press, 2016). She earned her master of theological studies degree from Garrett-Evangelical in 2002 and is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. She and her husband are members of St. Gertrude Parish in Chicago.
