DIRECTOR OF DISCIPLESHIP

Our Saviour’s United Methodist Church in Schaumburg, IL seeks a Director of Discipleship for
developing, maintaining, and communicating Our Saviour’s unified Discipleship Process whose
goal is to help our church family grow in their knowledge and intimacy with God.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities for this position.
 
  • Accountable for developing, maintaining, and communicating a unified church wide Discipleship Process
  • Accountable for coordinating with all committees to ensure the availability of meaningful programs aligned with the Vision Statement and Needs of the Church particularly:
    • Christian Education – Accountable to work with the Christian Education
    • Director and Youth Director to ensure OSUMC provides a children’s education curriculum that develops the child throughout the elementary, Junior and Senior High years.
    • Young Programs – Accountable to coordinate with the Christian Education Director to develop a discipleship curriculum that provides a menu of opportunities for people to grow in their faith through education and group discussion
  • Worship – Accountable to work with Worship Directors, and others, to develop a culture of prayer within OSUMC
  • Accountable for coordinating and communicating with the OSUMC Volunteer Programs to assure alignment with the Discipleship Process
Basic Qualifications
  • Deeply committed follower of Jesus Christ resolved to model a godly lifestyle
  • Solid Bible Knowledge consistent with traditional United Methodist theology and practice
  • Active participant in the life of OSUMC

  • Ability to manage people and workflow
  • Organized manager who can efficiently coordinate/lead multiple project/initiatives simultaneously
  • Creative Thinker who is willing to utilize a variety of means to engage individuals at various stages of their faith journey
Hours
  • Hours are “To Be Determined”
    • This position is defined as a salary exempt position (no overtime)
