Collective Theologies

“Collective Theologies” explores how expansive theological education can be, especially when we co-create. Each episode features a practitioner (or two) in conversation with a member of the Garrett Collective team.

Episode 1: Dr. He Qi

This episode of Collective Theologies features artist and theologian Dr. He Qi in conversation with Honorio Morales. View more of Dr. He Qi’s art at https://www.heqiart.com/

Questions for Reflection and Discussion:

  • What is the connection between art and faith? What art has touched your faith?
  • How does the idea of peace impact your faith?
  • How does art communicate with God?

Episode 2: Dr. Tamisha Tyler and Rev. Mihee Kim-Kort

This episode features Dr. Tamisha Tyler and Rev. Mihee Kim-Kort in conversation with rev. dr. abby mohaupt, the director of the Garrett Collective, highlighting queer liberation and afro-futurism in theological education.

Questions for Reflection and Discussion:

  • After watching this conversation, what does belonging mean to you? Are there spaces (like H-Mart or other domestic spaces) that give you a sense of that belonging?
  • What does it mean for God to be in the ellipses for you?
  • How do you feel that you shape God when you are in community in particular? What about when you are by yourself?
  • Considering the conversation of belonging, who do you belong to?
