‘Called to BE” is a Vocational Discernment Conference for High School and College Students.  The event will held on July 18-21, 2013 at North Central College, Naperville, Illinois.  It is jointly sponsored by Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and North Central College.

The “Called to Be” Conference will help high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and college students consider their vocational calling to serve God and to prepare for their future.  The event will conclude with worship at Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Grace Imathiu preaching and conversation with Rev. Imathiu following worship.  

The three-day event begins, on the North Central College campus-at 4 p.m. on July 18 and concludes at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 21. The cost of the program including meals, housing, and transportation is $275.  Payment may be made by credit card on-line or by check. Pre-registration is through the North Central College Summer Academic Camps website:    http://northcentralcollege.edu/community-and-visitors/course?cid=31403.  Please register by 9 p.m., July 10, 2013

Join us on October 1-2, 2013 for Plenary and Small Group Sessions providing faith and community leaders with the information they need to help people of the community navigate and access health security provided by the Affordable Care Act.

The Conference will gather at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and satellite sites in Chicago - South Side, Chicago - West Suburbs, and Geneva - Far West. It will also be streamed to AAPC (American Association of Pastoral Counseling) sites across the country. On Tuesday night, the Conference begins at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary with a plenary session featuring the Rev. Gary Gunderson, Professor of Faith and Health of the Public, Wake Forest University School of Divinity. The introductory plenary will be web streamed to all satellite sights. On Wednesday, all campuses will host a morning plenary and then gather in small groups focused on empowering congregational leaders to help constituents access health care benefits.
