Endowed Chair in Spiritual Formation is a First Among Protestant Seminaries
The establishment of the Rueben P. Job Chair in Spiritual Formation affirms Garrett-Evangelical’s deep and abiding commitment to nurture spiritual leaders. Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary has long been at the forefront of spiritual formation studies and we are just getting started. In January 2013, the Seminary fully-funded the Rueben P. Job Chair in Spiritual Formation ($2 million), a first among Protestant seminaries in the United States. The Rueben P. Job Endowed Chair in Spiritual Formation will uniquely position Garrett-Evangelical to further develop and enhance spiritual formation studies for generations to come.

Our faculty is one of Garrett-Evangelical's greatest assets. They are widely recognized for their expertise, scholarship, and leadership in the church and academy. Among them Dr. Dwight Judy, Professor of Spiritual Formation, has served as parish pastor, academic administrator of two graduate programs, retreat leader, retreat center director, spiritual director, and faculty member. Judy has authored many articles and books including his new book, A Quiet Pentecost: Inviting the Spirit into Congregational Life (Upper Room Books, 2013).
