April 27, 2017 — Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and the Office of Deacons and Diaconal Ministers at the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) are cosponsoring Deacon Dialogue 2017 on June 28, 2017, at Loyola University Lakeshore Campus, Chicago, Illinois.

April 25, 2017 — The Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) has selected 16 students across 13 institutions to receive a fellowship in 2017 to support their PhD or ThD program in religion, theological studies, or biblical studies. Among them, Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary PhD student in theology and ethics, Lisa Dellinger has been awarded a fellowship for Latino/a, Asian, and First Nations Doctoral Students.
Rev. Dr. David Hogue
March 18, 2017 — Rev. Dr. David A. Hogue (G-ETS/NU 1985), professor of pastoral theology and counseling, will retire from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary on January 1, 2018. Over his 26-year career at the seminary, Hogue distinguished himself as a leader among the faculty, a mentor to students, and an unparalleled scholar at the intersection of pastoral care, theology, and neuroscience.
Dr. Pamela Holliman
March 17, 2017 — Dr. Pamela J. Holliman (G-ETS 1973, 1977, and G-ETS/NU 1985), associate professor of pastoral theology and pastoral psychotherapy, will retire on June 30, 2017 after nine years as a faculty member at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. Holliman was instrumental in designing, implementing, and directing the clinical track in the master of arts in pastoral care and counseling and the doctor of philosophy in pastoral theology, personality and culture
Dr. James E. K. Hildreth
February 13, 2017 — Dr. James E. K. Hildreth, president and chief executive officer of Meharry Medical College, will be the commencement speaker at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary’s 160th Commencement service on May 12, 2017. Hildreth will also be awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters. The commencement service will begin at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Evanston.
