President Philip Amerson Receives Eliza Garrett Distinguished Service Award

EVANSTON, Illinois, May 2011 – Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary’s Leadership Team presented the Eliza Garrett Distinguished Service Award to President Philip Amerson for his exceptional leadership and service to Garrett-Evangelical. He received the award at the trustee dinner on May 12.

EVANSTON, Ill., May 2011 – Jerre and Mary Joy Stead of Scottsdale, AZ, have made a commitment of $5 million to Garrett- Evangelical’s unrestricted endowment, it was announced at the seminary’s board of trustees meeting on May 12, 2011.

EVANSTON, Illinois, May 2011 –Bishop of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference, Bishop Gregory V. Palmer, delivered the address at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary’s 154th commencement, where he was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree. The service was held at First United Methodist Church in Evanston on May 13.
