About Dr. Cosgrove
My aim as a theological educator is to assist in forming students as critical and constructive thinkers who can draw with insight and discrimination from their own traditions and learn from the traditions and experiences of others. As a teacher in the field of early Christianity, I am particularly responsible for making the voices of ancient Christians speak across the centuries and to facilitate a conversation between them and the church of today. In helping that conversation take place, I am especially committed to making sure that Jesus' witness to the "kingdom of God" is heard--his call for mercy, peace, justice, and nonviolence and his concern for the poor, the excluded, the enemy, the disreputables, the forgotten, and the powerless.
