Styberg Preaching Institute Workshop: Proclaiming New Life for a New Day
Proclaiming New Life for a New Day:
Preaching Lent and Easter Texts
January 19-20, 2017 | 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary
How can the preacher offer an authentic word of good news to congregations facing the challenges of our contemporary times?
Sponsored by the Styberg Preaching Institute at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, this two-day workshop offers methods and models for authentically interpreting and preaching Lenten and Easter texts. Dr. Osvaldo Vena will unwind the biblical stories that take us on the journey to the new life of the resurrection. Dr. Gennifer Brooks will offer sermonic models that help to re-locate the message of liberation they offer in our contemporary world.
There is no cost but registration is required. Participants can earn one Continuing Education Unit (CEU) for attending both days. The CEU certificate costs $25.00.
For questions or additional needs, please email the Styberg Preaching Institute at Styberg@Garrett.edu.
