Rev. Anne Broyles
M.Div. '79, Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary
Broyles graduated from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in 1979 with a Master of Divinity degree, following her undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona. She has served as a pastor at churches in California before retiring from pastoral ministry to become a writer. She has written books from different genres including: religious non-fiction, children's books, and a novel.
She has chaired the California-Pacific Conference on Christian Spirituality, led retreats for persons with HIV/AIDS, is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Weavings, a journal of Christian spiritual life, and is a certified member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. Broyles has received the Community Unity Award from the League of United Latin American Citizens in Los Angeles. She recently moved from California to Massachusetts, and she says, “I'm adapting to the beauty of four distinct seasons, and of course I am still reading and writing.”
